Weight Loss: 45kg

I was so happy to pose in a traditional Indian bridal suit, rather than being fearful and camera shy.

I am 27 years old and I first became interested in Cambridge Weight Plan after watching a story about it on ‘A Current Affair’ and seeing the amazing success stories online.

I was about to get married but couldn’t find a dress locally to fit my 120kg frame, so I bought one online. As I tried the dress on, mum stood watching me, tears in her eyes and telling me how beautiful I looked. But I didn’t feel beautiful.

The trigger happened while watching my favourite shows, ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’. Khloe Kardashian is my idol and in November 2013, I got the chance to meet Khloe at Highpoint Shopping Centre. Seeing Khloe dressed in the ‘Kardashian Kollection’ clothing, clothing that I loved, convinced me that today was the day I would turn my life around.

I was now on a mission. I called Erica my wonderful Consultant. I was going to wear that same outfit that Khloe was wearing when I met her and I was going to wear it like a star. With every kilo I lost, I gained so much more. I was walking on the treadmill and then I was running, my clothes getting loose. I knew that soon I would be wearing the beautiful clothes that until now I would only look at. The day I actually wore Khloe’s outfit brought tears to my whole family’s eyes and a steely determination in me. My self-esteem soared and I swore never to go back to the person I once was.

I was unstoppable. When my husband and I booked our flight to India so that I could meet my in-laws and to have our big Indian wedding, I was excited, rather than being fearful and camera shy. I was happy to pose with my husband in a traditional Indian bridal suit.

I often wonder how you say thank you to someone like Erica, who has supported me and believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself – by being as happy as I am now!
