With World Sleep Day on the 15th March 2019, Cambridge Weight Plan want to highlight the importance that good sleep can make to your weight loss journey so we are asking people to get involved by wearing your pyjama’s to work for the day. It seems like an easy thing to do but if you have to catch the train or travel to work on public transport it will take a little courage but it will also start the conversation and may even make you some new friends, all while raising awareness of this important issue impacting society.
World Sleep Day is an annual event, intended to be a celebration of sleep and a call to action on important issues related to sleep, including medicine, education, social aspects and driving. It is organised by the World Sleep Day Committee of World Sleep Society and aims to lessen the burden of sleep problems on society through better prevention and management of sleep disorders.
We here are Cambridge Weight Plan want to be apart of the activities happening for this international day especially given that many overweight and obese people experience sleep apnoea. In order to bring awareness to these issues in relation to weight, CWP are asking that everyone wear their PJs on Friday 15th March 2019 to raise awareness and possibly motivate people to do something about their weight if they are experiencing sleeping issues. If you are a slimmer, why not think about going to your weigh in early tomorrow, that way you can just roll out of bed and get in the car and go.
I will be keeping my PJ’s on this Friday and you should also to help say ‘Good Night’ to all weight related sleep apnoea.
